Conclusion

Summing it all up, sport has had a positive impact on the UK in many different ways. Since sport has come into the equation it has brought many things with it to the UK. Sport in the UK has created and sustained a way of life for many people in the UK. Nearly every day a person has something sport related to do, whether it is going to the gym, watching sport live or just reading about sport.

Although some people agree about the Commonwealth games not having a great impact on the UK, I think that the Olympics will have a positive impact on UK. For example the Olympic stadium it will leave behind could be used by a small football club who may bring glory to the UK in the future, just because of that one stadium. Also the world class facilities built in London could give an idea to the government about making more facilities like that available allover the country. Another thing is that people who own houses around that area could benefit from this by renting their houses for tourists to live in. Not only that but people will have a more pleasant area to live in after the Olympic games. Also the economy in the UK would get a big boost. For example the more people who watch the Olympics would keep or start an interest in their sport, so they will obviously need sports equipment to play sport and this is why many sports retail shops will gain a massive amount of profit. people will be able to keep jobs at sport retail shops because of this. More and more people will join gyms and all the people who had watched the Olympics will want to become just like the athletes the watched at the Olympics. All of this will give the country a chance to live a fit and healthy life. Having these sporting facilities around us, more and more youngsters would want to become athletes and will want to bring glory to their country just like the athletes would have done at the 2012 Olympics.

Overall i think that the Olympics will defiantly benefit all of the UK and will help the different pillars which hold up sport. The Olympics will defiantly pay back what it is worth and will benefit the people of the country with its legacy that its going to leave behind. Hopefully more people will realise how great sport is and will start to take part and get involved in sport. The success which the Olympics will bring will defiantly inspire the people of the United Kingdom to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. London 2012 will bring success to the UK.

The Value of Events

Sports events have had a huge and positive impact on different areas, individuals and businesses in the UK. In this blog i m going to be reviewing what impact the Commonwealth games had on Manchester and the surrounding areas.

Since the 2002 Commonwealth games, the city of Manchester has always been the centre of sporting events. Many people have benefited from the facilities left over since the Commonwealth games and are now used by big name brands, for example the city of Manchester stadium now known as the Etihad stadium is the home stadium of Manchester city football club. This 48,000 capacity stadium is one of the biggest things the Commonwealth games has had to offer and leave behind for professional athletes and teams to use.The common wealth games have also left behind the National Squash Centre, the 6,500 seat Manchester Regional Arena, English Institute of Sport, Manchester Velodrome and the Tennis Centre as well as a state-of-the-art gymnasium. Almost all sports are played in Manchester and this gives the public the opportunity to take part and learn more about different sports out there.

Because Manchester sports city has to offer so  many sporting facilities to the public and professional athletes this is why other areas of sport are also getting a big boost because of the world class facilities. For example the economy in Manchester must have risen by people taking part in events in Manchester and then later buying sports merchandise such as sports equipment, clothing, footwear and sports memorabilia. Not only has the economy benefited from the legacy left by the Commonwealth games but also individuals have benefited too. for example new and much more developed homes have been built since the Commonwealth games and areas of Manchester are now a much more pleasant place to live in. also Manchester offers a variety of employment to individuals to work in Manchester now.

Sports participation and  in Manchester has grown by a huge number too since the Commonwealth games . For example more people tend to go and watch both the Manchester clubs, man united and man city. the attendance of both these clubs has risen since the Commonwealth games.

The Commonwealth games will leave a legacy behind and has done a lot for the upbringing and a better future for Manchester. one example is that Manchester city football club have taught of a scheme where they will make a sixth form college for their academy players so they become professionals as well as having the knowledge of sport too. Manchester city will also welcome other students outside of Manchester city FC too. this is a great idea as it is giving young people to educate and learn more about different subjects as well as playing football.
